Apartment Fire at Twelve 501 Apartments, Burnsville, Minnesota

BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA - Around 1:15 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, a fire broke out in a first-floor apartment at Twelve 501 Apartments in (12501 Portland Avenue) Burnsville, Minnesota. Emergency services, including the Burnsville and Eagan Fire Departments, Apple Valley Fire Department Fire Marshall, along with the Burnsville Police, responded promptly to reports of a fire. According to officials with the City of Burnsville, no injuries were reported due to the fire.

The first fire units arrived around four minutes after the initial call, and crews confirmed a working fire soon after arriving on the scene. Heavy smoke was reported coming from the apartment of concern, and all residents evacuated the apartment building. Firefighters worked to quickly contain the blaze and ensure everyone's safety. Per scanner traffic, crews knocked the fire down by around 1:26 PM and it was reported officially out by 1:33 PM. Officials with the City of Burnsville confirmed that, at this time, only one unit was displaced due to the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is still under investigation.
