A Woman is Facing Charges After Pointing a Gun at Another Person in Eagan

EAGAN, MINNESOTA —On Saturday, March 23, 2024, around 9:15 PM, Eagan Police responded to the Popeyes located at 1300 Town Centre Drive for a weapons report.

According to the criminal complaint released by the Dakota County Attorney's Office, a victim (driver) reported that while driving in front of the Walmart in Eagan, a red SUV stopped in front of the business. They attempted to pass the SUV, and the SUV began to inch forward in what the victim reported as an attempt to prevent them from passing. They eventually passed the SUV, and while passing them, the driver screamed, "Jesus Christ" toward the red SUV before driving to the Popeyes.

The criminal complaint states that once they got to the drive-through at Popeyes, the same red SUV pulled up next to them, and the driver pulled out a pink handgun and pointed it at them, yelling back at them, "What the f**k did you say?" Officers spoke with the other two victims in the car, and all three said the driver of the red SUV pointed a gun at them while saying, "What the f**k did you say?"

Officers located the red SUV in the Walmart parking lot, identifying the driver as Asia Harris. She was given her Miranda statement and admitted to following the victim's car to Popeyes but had said that she only had her pink BB gun on her lap and never pointed it at any of them. Officers located the pink BB gun in the glove box of the car.

Court records show Asia Harris received a felony charge for Threat of Violence (Intent to Terrorize) and a gross misdemeanor for carrying a BB gun or shotgun in a Public Place. The bond was set at $5,000 with no conditions and $1,000 with conditions. One of those conditions included the suspension of a gun permit or suspending the application process for a gun permit. Her next court hearing is on April 17, 2024, at 1:30 PM. Since this court case is ongoing, Harris is innocent until proven guilty.
