Suspect Flees MN State Trooper in Eagan, MN

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - Around 2:05 AM on December 8, 2023, a Minnesota State Patrol Trooper spotted a Mercedes they suspected of speeding near Highway 77 and 66th Street in Richfield, Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Trooper attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle with the activation of their lights and siren, but the vehicle failed to stop and instead increased its speed, fleeing from the police. A brief pursuit ensued before the suspect vehicle exited southbound Highway 77 for westbound Highway 13, lost control, and spun out on the corner of the ramp in the Eagan, Minnesota, area. The suspect and driver of the car, an 18-year-old black male, then fled the vehicle and left a female in the car. The suspect ran to the area of the Eagan Outlet Mall.

Neighboring departments, including the Eagan Police Department, aided in the search for the suspect, but the suspect was not found. It is unconfirmed at this time, but it was reported the suspect ran because they might have a warrant.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, there is an active and open investigation into this case, and no injuries were reported due to the incident.
