Rosemount Police Department Provides Preliminary Details of Serious Crash; Minnesota State Patrol Leading Investigation

ROSEMOUNT, MINNESOTA - At approximately 3:57 pm today, Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the Rosemount Police and Fire Departments responded to a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 3 (Robert Trail S) between 142nd St W and 143rd St W. Preliminary investigations suggest that a vehicle traveling northward veered across the centerline, resulting in a head-on collision with a southbound vehicle.

The impact of the collision left one driver severely injured. The injured driver, who was the sole occupant of the southbound vehicle, sustained a significant leg injury and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, there were no passengers in either vehicle at the time of the incident. The driver of the other vehicle traveling northbound reportedly only suffered minor injuries.

Traffic heading south on Highway 3 was temporarily halted to facilitate emergency response efforts while northbound traffic continued to flow. The Rosemount Police Department extends its gratitude to an unnamed Doctor who assisted first responders in administering medical aid to the injured driver.

According to Chief Dahlstrom of the Rosemount Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol is leading the investigation into the crash. We will contact the Minnesota State Patrol for more information on this incident and any charges that might be pending as a result of the crash. We will provide additional updates as soon as they are available.
