UPDATE: Pennington County Sheriff's Office has identified the female victim in the fatal crash on August 5th

UPDATE: Pennington County Sheriff's Office announces they have identified the young woman who was involved in the fatal crash in the early hours of Saturday, August 5, 2023. She has been identified as 19-year-old Patricia Brewer of Rapid City, South Dakota. Pennington County, South Dakota - Original Story: In the early hours of Saturday, August 5, 2023, at around 3:30 AM, law enforcement responded to a distress call at the intersection of East Highway 44 and Airport Road in Rapid City, South Dakota, Pennington County. Tragically, they discovered the lifeless body of a woman lying in the roadway. The evidence suggested that the woman had been the victim of a vehicle collision.

The driver of the vehicle that was involved in the accident promptly called 911 and reported the accident. Law enforcement says that the driver involved in the incident has cooperated fully with law enforcement during their ongoing investigation. This case remains an active investigation, and law enforcement diligently works to identify the deceased female. At the time of the incident, law enforcement reports the female victim was wearing a green hoodie, black yoga pants, and white Crocs.
