Ham Lake resident dies following a racing accident in Illinois

SOUTH BELOIT, ILLINOIS - A Ham Lake, Minnesota resident died on Sunday, October 9, 2022, following a crash at the Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, Illinois. According to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office, Charles Mack, 69, was pronounced dead at a Rockford, Illinois area hospital at 7:14 PM.

In a statement released by the Coroner’s office, it is reported that Mack was racing at the Blackhawk Farms Raceway in South Beloit, Illinois when his vehicle left the track and hit a tree. He was transported to a Rockford area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for October 11.

Charles Mack was racing in the Chicago Region SCCA Fall Sprints Double Divisional races at the Blackhawk Farms Raceway located at 15538 Prairie Road in South Beloit, Illinois.
