Repeat Offender Arrested for Nike Store Theft in Eagan

EAGAN, MINNESOTA - On December 27th, 2023, Eagan police officers responded to a call reporting a theft in progress at the Nike store at the Twin Cities Outlets in Eagan. According to the criminal complaint, a manager described the suspect as a black male wearing a black hat, jacket, and pants. The manager described the suspect as carrying a black Nike duffel filled with merchandise and a box of Nike shoes. Officers were also told that the suspect had left without paying for any items. The man was last seen heading towards the Columbia store.

Upon arrival, officers saw a man matching the description provided exiting the Columbia store. The man was carrying a black Nike duffle bag with a box of Nike shoes. When placed under arrest, officers discovered he also had a tan Columbia brand jacket with the tags still on.

The suspect, identified as 57-year-old Jimmy Kernealeous Moses, was read the Miranda warnings and initially agreed to provide a statement. He later decided not to speak with officers or give any statements. When the recovered items were returned to Nike, an itemized receipt showed the total cost of the allegedly stolen items, which totaled $522.90. The recovered jacket was also returned to Columbia and was valued at $74.99.

Moses was trespassed from the Nike store for one year and charged with felony theft. Moses has a string of theft and drug possession charges, including:

  • Seven separate thefts between July 27-30th, 2023, from the same West St Paul store. He again stole a TV from this store on August 1st, 2023

  • Pending theft conviction from December 2018 in the State of Pennsylvania

  • Walmart theft on September 9, 2023, in West St Paul

His bond was set at $3,000 without conditions and $1,500 without conditions. As of the time of writing this article, his bond has not been posted, and his next court date is set for April 3, 2024, at 9 AM in Hastings, Minnesota.
