8 Dogs Found Dead: CGPD Investigates Possible Animal Cruelty Incident

COTTAGE GROVE, MINNESOTA - The Cottage Grove Police Department asks for the public's help as law enforcement investigates a potential animal cruelty incident.

In a press release from the Cottage Grove Minnesota Public Safety, on Sunday, October 15, 2023, they state an Officer found 8 deceased dogs around 12:30 PM that had been left in the tree line along Grey Cloud Island Drive near Grey Cloud Island Trail in Grey Cloud Island Township.

According to the press release, all the dogs were from a smaller breed of dog, including a Schnauzer and similar-sized white dogs that might have been a terrier breed. The Officer estimates the dogs ranged from puppy age to adult and were left there recently. The Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley is assisting Officers with their investigation.

They ask if you were in the area and saw a vehicle stopped near this location, know someone missing several dogs similar to those described above, or have any other information related to this case that might be able to identify those responsible to please contact Officer Tou Vue at 651-458-6052 or email him at tvue@cottagegrovemn.gov.
